Tried a few different mics specifically for the snare drum. Between the Senheiser evolution, sure sm57 and even a few condensers this was the answer to my snare recording problems.

There's a reason that Telefunken is a hot name in mics right now. I use in ear monitors a few nights a week and have chosen this as my prefered snare mic over a Sm57, a Beta56 and an Audix mic that I forget the name of. This thing sounds great. Its pricey but if you make your living by playing music then its possibly a no brainer for you.
