Needed an RJ9 cable for the remote switch for my AIMS inverter. Couldn't find on at the stores that wasn't coiled. The RJ9 is from a landline phone to the earpiece/microphone. This was the perfect length for what I needed and priced right. I labeled the extra one because in 10 years when I need another RJ9 they will probably be even harder to find.

This RJ9 modular connector is so outdated it's crazy. BUT crazy there are still applications that this is the only answer.I used this extension cord for Data Connection between my Iota Converter (RV usage) to the Optional IQ4 pendent to be able to remotely monitor the Converter stages when Boon Docking and running on Generator Power. The IQ4 factory Cord is only 12" long not long enough to see the power stages.The Modular plug size of this one is getting harder to find.

Initially both cables didn't work, then worked intermittently as I jiggled the connectors in the mating sockets. Finally looked at the connectors on these cables under a microscope and saw that all 4 connectors (2 on each cable) had damage in the recessed area for one of the contacts (pin 1, black wire) - either a bad mold or perhaps they had been plugged in to a bad test fixture during manufacturing. The damage was such that on 3 of the 4 connectors a piece of plastic had been sliced partially off and it had folded over to cover part of the contact - thus blocking the electrical connection.I was able to repair all connectors using a fine-point Xacto knife to remove the piece of plastic and shave down the damaged area, but this would have been difficult without a microscope.Don't buy these unless you have a microscope and are willing to repair the connectors.The seller should check their inventory.

Just adding some info here. In the last picture notice the color wiring order. Some cables will have the colors reversed on the other end.

If you are looking for a cord to connect one device to another, for example from the base of a land-line phone to the handset, this one may not or will not work. The signal lines are straight through. I ended up cut the cord and twisted them myself - too lazy to return and search for a different one.Perhaps, I should notice the word "Extension" in the name. It is meant to be an extension cord, not a "connector" cord. So it has to be straight through?
