I wanted to have a 1st party solution to improve the comfort of the crystal. I did have the studiofrom apache strap specifically to the crystal. The apache strap worked well but looks really diy on the headset. Decided to give the pimax solution a try. Install of the pimax comfort strap is pretty straight forward. the existing padding on the sides should have been addressed differently, it looks messy when being reused for this solution. Before i get into why, i want to state that for me the studioform apache strap is much more comfortable than the pimax strap. On the pimax strap, the piece that sits on your head is a good material. The problem is that its not rigid enough. The contact point on your head are 4 specific points where the pad portion connects to the strap and what sits in the middle of it. In contrast the apache strap distributes that weight across the entire strap. After 20 minutes of using the pimax strap, i started to feel the the 4 pressure points. The other thing that it does is when you tighten it with the knob, it squeezes the sides closer to your head. You would think this is a good thing but for me it caused excessive pressure on my cheeks. The final thing which i believe is a flaw in the design is how close the pad piece is to the strap piece. because of how tight it is, the chord that carries power from the battery to the headset does not move freely in it (especially when you are wearing it). This is not good because when you use the strap to handle the headset or make adjustments to it forward and back, it will cause tension on where the power band connects to the battery compartment/headset.
