Good game for kids, love the cute pictures.Simple and easy to play.I highly recommend it. Motivates kids to read because they have to read each card to know what “power” they can use.

The graphics are very appealing for young kids (think pokemon cute) and the game play is straightforward. Powertip watch the YouTube demo, the instructions make it sound harder than it is. Games are short enough for young kids to enjoy.

The instructions are clear. We love this so much that we kept going the whole night! It's not too wordy and oh my the Neighs brought such variety of reactions. This is an enjoyable game with my 7 and 9 year olds.

I’ve been interested in trying Unstable Unicorns for awhile but due to my sons only being 7 I decided to give the “For Kids” version a try first. The packaging is similar in size to Exploding Kittens and the cards are similar in quality with a protective coating applied. The object of the game is to be the first player with 7 unicorns in their stable. There are a lot of different unicorns in the deck. While they are artistically different their functions are the same and you simply need to identify them by colour. Each colour of magic card offers a different power (as seen in my pic of all 8) and can be played for a price (or freely if you have the corresponding unicorn colour already in your stable). The neigh card acts like a Stop or Nope or other such card similar to other card games. I did seek clarification on the game’s website that the Neigh card may only be played against another player when they initially play from their hand (simply because one boy tried to block the other from selecting a specific card from discard pile). Game time of 20-45 mins noted on box is fairly accurate. I would say less players would keep you closer to the low end than if more are playing. Overall this game was very enjoyable and I would definitely recommend. We all liked the artwork and there’s a nice balance of strategy that is enjoyable for both the kids and adults in the room. I definitely look forward to trying the full version down the road with my boys.

Kids love it! Really silly types of unicorns and I like how thought-out each unicorn is. We watched a YouTube video and that helped, along with using the guide to know what all the magic cards do. Played it a few times in a row and got the hang of it. You can be really strategic in this game, like totally ruthless but you don't have to of course. We flew threw a couple games too quickly so we extended the amount of unicorns we needed in the stable. So you can easily customize this game everytime you play.

I have a 4 year old and an 8 year old. almost every night, before bed "can we play unstable unicorns?" We have to play showing all of our hands, but the reactions and excitement for my kids make it totally worth it. The 4 year old is obsessed with the kittencorn. If they don't get it, be prepared to have them destroy it from you stable. The 8 year methodically decides what to do, whether to use a good ball and go find a card they want or to use the prism card to steal a uniform. They get so caught up in "destroying" the unicorns you have to remind them the goal is to get 7 unicorns. Highly recommend. Side note, with a 4 year old be ready for those tantrums, those poor cards never make it. :)
