We had a smaller, older version of this opener that we used daily until it got jammed and could not be repaired. This new version is a bigger and easier to operate. It has a more powerful motor and a reversing mode in case of a jam. You just set it on the can, press the button, let go and walk away. It cuts the off the top of the can and stops automatically. It's my favorite opener.

I bought this due to having a nerve impingement in my arm making it difficult to operate a normal crank can opener. The instructions that come with this are useless as it tells you to line the can up with the guide on the side of the can opener (which there is not one). The few times I got it to work was purely by accident or luck. After the 2nd use, the can lids get stuck on the opener after it is opened and you practically slice your hand off trying to free it from between the blade and holder. I will be returning this as it is far more of a hassle than the old time crank can openers.

This can opener is bit fidgety and takes a little patience and time to use this can opener ! It is tiresome for somebody with arthritis or wrist problems ! Not recommended !

I had issues getting this can opener to work consistently. When I did manage to get it attached, it did ok but struggled around the can edges in a jerky motion. However, I couldn't figure out how to get it to open the can. The instructions suggested to tilt it down but I couldn't get it to work. This device might take some time to get used to operating. It also doesn't come with batteries...so you'll need to have those on-hand to use it. This is definitely slower to use than my regular can opener...especially considering how many attempts I made...but it may be worth it for someone who has trouble with a manual opener.

Dinner will be over before this thing gets around to opening a can. I got it today. Tried it on a 16 ounce can of wax beans. It's like watching grass grow. And I used NEW batteries so that wasn't the problem. (It does not arrive with batteries, so have some on hand.)I did give it two stars because it did leave a very smooth cut on the lid that was removed and on the can. Many electric can openers leave tiny bits of sharp metal. So, I give it a little slack and an extra star due to the cut it makes. But it's just too slow to be useful. Can't recommend it.

I placed this flat on top of the can and it didn't cut. It just spun around. So I read the instructions a second time and looked at the cutting head. I placed it on the can with the cutting edge tilted down at around a 15 degree angle. It worked like a charm. It will keep spinning around until you push the stop button. The tone and speed with which it goes around will change once it is done cutting. I open a couple of cans of canned green beans without issue once I got the knack. This is the first can opener of this type that I have gotten. It worked well. We will see how the DW likes it.BTW if you are watching your sodium you can rinse you canned veggies to reduce the sodium.

This can opener didn't work at all! I followed the directions and thought it was me so I got 3 other people along with 4 different sized cans and let them have a go at it. It still wouldn't open a can!
