Generally URO parts work fine. My part DID come with a new o-ring. However, as another customer experienced, the part does not seat well. After struggling for much longer than I should have, I had to resort to setting the sensor at an angle to start the clip, then use a rubber mallet and flat head screw driver to slowly seat the sensor while slipping the clip into place (not recommend). I have replaced this part twice in the past and never had this fitment issue. Although I did not measure it with calipers, it is obvious that the brass portion is just a bit too large. The o-ring appears identical in size an squish to OEM. It's worth it to buy from another supplier that manufactures a sensor that is closer to spec. Seriously, your time is worth more than saving a dollar or two.

I spent an hour trying to get this part in. Trying to lubricate the part with coolant, fit the o-ring on the sensor first (that does not come with it), trying to seat the o-ring in the hole first, pushing down on the top of it with a glove, the last resort was taking the handle of a screw driver and pushing down until the green connector on the temperature sender started to bend out of shape (even this is of less quality than the original part). No, the original o-ring was not still in the hole still. I took it out to inspect it and even cleaned the hole the sensor fits into. The part # matched my old sender but my old one had 4 Audi rings stamped on it. This one does not. This one was most likely made in China (I have had some good parts come from there) and is not the exact same shape. For giggles I took the original sender and put it in the hole as a last resort. It went in in less than 10 seconds with the clip in place. This sensor is crap. Do not buy.

This does not come with O-Ring, as I would expect. Other than that, it is the correct fitment and functions well. Get the clip and oring, your old clip is brittle and is likely to break, and unless you have access to a set of o-rings (which are actually pretty affordable at HF) you'll need that as well.My 2001 VAG 1.8t coolant flange was leaking at the head and I decided to go ahead and replace the flange, (which came with an o-ring btw), temp sensor and clip b/c for the price, it's a good idea. I did not realize that my oem (black) temp sensor was reading so far off. Put stock back in to compare and VAG COM readings were about 10 deg difference. You can't go by temp gauge reading cause it is weighted to read normal between 80 and 100. You want it to stay close to 90. If you don't have vag com, maybe use the torque app on your phone with a bluetooth elm adapter. There is also a trick you can do with your a/c controls that allows you to display water temp, as well as other values. Quick search will tell you how.Car is 2001 Audi TTq 225, but this fits a wide range of 99-2005 VAG cars.
