First of all, the install videos you find on the internet are skipping a lot of the things you encounter with this units installation, and a lot of the issues are not in the instructions. Also their quality control is lacking. First off get yourself something to trim foam and rubber gaskets, because the one that seals the box to the wheel well is NOT cut to fit already on delivery. Also the holes at the same joint NEVER line up correctly as much as you want it to. Also, they don’t mention that you may need to remove a metal support bracket that was used in the factory CAI. If you are OCD this install will drive you crazy, because nothing lines up perfectly, and it will never be perfectly aligned. Every single joint is stressed and somehow only really held together with the rubber flanges they send. The hole and two bolt holes for the mass air sensor on the intake pipe on mine was drilled incorrectly in the wrong position. One of my screws had to go in slightly sideways since the holes weren’t perfectly aligned with the sensor. It was that or send it back and wait for a week for another one. That’s the first thing to check when you receive it. Now that it’s in. Well, it looks cool. Maybe 1 MPG MAYBE of fuel economy boost and just enough performance and throttle increase to constantly try to assess if it made a difference. There IS an improvement but not a crazy improvement. There IS a sound difference, but it’s not a throaty sound, it’s more of a resonating sound when you are on the throttle. Just know going in that this product is NOT a super easy install, and if you are OCD, it will bother you, because you will never get this product in and aligned perfectly the way you would expect it to be.

I got this on my 2008 f150 5.4 4x4. It took about thirty minutes to install. Over all very tight and snug fit. I love it. My engine sounds like my old 5.0 mustang. It helps my exhaust(flow master) a lot. The power is noticeable with this. I went from 0-60 in 12 seconds to 0-60 in 9 seconds. My mpg went from 11 to 15. Very good product I would recommend to anyone who is looking for bolt on hp and good fuel mileage

I installed this intake on my 2004 Ford F150 to see if I could get a little bit better gas mileage and performance. The truck sounds amazing when you put the petal down. There are a few concerns with fitment. First, the intake box does not line up completely with where the OEM intake tube goes into the fender. Second, the intake box sits right on top of the 4wd module where it is resting on the hard lines as well as the power steering reservoir. I will have to keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't do much damage to either over time. Finally, I believe that the throttle body attachment sits higher than where the air box is position leaving an uneven seal around the throttlebody. Everything is covered with the provided sleeves but it just makes me a little nervous seeing it look crooked on there. Overall, pretty happy with this intake. It doesn't seem cheaply made and is pretty stout.

I installed this and wow what a difference it made in my horsepower. I soon as I took it for a test drive I can hear it just sucking that air in and sounded cool.

Ok once the intake is installed it's awesome. Sounds and feels good. The problem is getting the product installed. If you haven't guessed the instructions aren't the greatest.First you don't have to relocate the fuse box but you have to move it temporary. Once you have the filter box on you can put the fuse box back. Second you have to screw the box from underneath which is tight and it takes to long. I used self tapping screws. Quick, fast and tight.Third you'll have to trim the holes that connects to the manifold and the intake. You'll see once you're there. But once the intake is on it sounds and runs good.

I was excited about installing this on my truck, but as soon as I opened the package, my enthusiasm dwindled down to naught.Very poor quality control; if you take a look at the pictures, you will see that one of the metal screw inserts for the MAF is quite crooked, and that the plastic mating surface is uneven. Talk about not sealing correctly.I don't think I'll buy from Volant in the future.

Leaves the engine compartment a little empty looking with it installed. But all in all a pretty good intake. I went from 14.7 mpg on highway to 22.3mpg. Doesnt whistle or make much of a sound that ive heard so far. Easy installation took 10 minutes at most. Make sure you disconnect your negative terminal on your battery after its installed to let the computer adjust for the difference in air flow. I've noticed a pretty good difference in torque and throttle response with it.

This is an excellent product but whoever wrote or approved these instructions should be terminated. The sizes they give for the bolts are all wrong, lots of wasted time back and forth to the tool box. There is a seal that goes around the inlet next to the wheel well that is never even mentioned in the instructions. You find that out when your done and find an extra piece.By that time it is too late to put it on without removing everything you just spent an hour installing. We won't even mention the mispelled words or words with letters just plain missing.Read other reviews on other websites, lots of the same reviews regarding the instructions. Volant is either too lazy or stupid to correct them.
