Worked well the first 2 times I needed the generator. The other day, though, when a tree branch took out power to our house, I needed it to work on my generator and it came apart. The plastic gave way and released the pawl. I would not trust it again.

The little metal wings that should be in the nylon wheel that would fit inside the Cup-Flywheel that catch when pull starting but retract once started, were lying loose in the metal part of the product. There were no instructions regarding how these little metal wings should be position in the nylon wheel, no instructions regarding how the nylon wheel should be mated to the Cup-Flywheel without the metal wings falling out, and no information on how to contact customer support, even though the sales page says to contact them for service and they will work out any issue. If you get one of these that is properly intact, it may work for you but since mine is in pieces, I have no recourse except to return and look for a product that is supported.

First pull the cord ripped. Fixed it 2-3 pulls later the dogs broke out of the plastic housing. Then the coil spring broke the holder and wouldn't retract. All within 2 minutes being on the engine

Seemed heavier duty than I expected.Fit perfectly on my older Troy Bilt 5550 watt portable generator.And no more clanging from the broken nylon pieces.Replaced to fix broken pull rope, and the clanging noise when running.In most cases, don’t just replace a broken rope.Get this whole pre-wound assembly.Great buy!
