Also called a water flapper. Acts as a flexible check valve to stop water from returning up the exhaust system to the engine.
Fits inline inside the exhaust system for numerous MerCruiser stern drive installations. Installed downstream of the flexible union between the elbow and Y-pipe.
Easy to replace with common shop tools. See your owner's manual or service manual for specific applications and instructions.
