Wisconsin Tool Angle Finder Closeup

The World's Most Advanced Digital Angle Finder

Fully functional and feature-packed doesn't mean hard to use! This bevel box is designed to simplify your routine angle measurement tasks, from simple tasks like setting saw blade angles and weld angles, to complex repeat measurements such as production testing and fixturing, bed alignment, and other precision work.

No matter your angle measurement task, this bevel box can handle it. Fully programmable setpoints ensure you can dial in exactly what angle you're targeting and read out the display when it's achieved. The hold function locks the current screen reading, and the negative contrast LCD provides bright, crisp, and oversized numbers that are easy to read in any lighting condition.

Operation Instructions

Power On/Off & Calibration

Tap to power on, hold to power off. While off, press/hold the power button to enter calibration mode. Calibration can be done on any flat surface (it doesn't need to be perfectly level). Tap power to store your first calibration reference, turn the tool 180-degrees, and tap power again. That's it - it takes about 15 seconds! Calibration is recommended anytime ambient temperature changes, when new batteries are installed, or if the tool has not been used for a few weeks.

Wisconsin Tool Bevel Box showing degrees and percent slope operating modes

Set your Mode

Tapping through the various modes lets you choose from Degrees, Percent Slope, or the two built-in modes of 22.5-degrees and 45-degrees. The fifth mode is a custom mode, where you can set your own reference point and have the tool measure relative to your custom value, ideal for repetitive production work, checking ramp angles, and more. The custom setpoint is displayed on the LCD's secondary display.

Digital Bevel Box showing schematic explaining Relative Mode vs Absolute (true level) modes

Relative vs. Absolute

Just like a bubble level, absolute mode measures angle with respect to gravity, or "true level". This is ideal for setting drainage angles, ramp angles, and industrial leveling.

Relative mode ("REL" on the display) measures relative to a preset or user-defined angle. For example, when setting a table saw blade, your table may not be perfectly level. If you set the saw blade to a true 45-degrees, your cut will be off by the angle of your table. This tool solves this instantly. Just put the angle locator on the saw's table, press REL, and set a 45-degree blade angle. It couldn't be simpler!

Freeze a Value on Screen

When working in tight corners or above your head (such as spot checking I-Beams or rafters), you can press the HOLD button to freeze the current level value, so that you can remove the tool and bring it down to eye-level for easy viewing, without the LCD changing off of the measured value. It's also handy when you've forgotten your pencil and don't want to forget what angle you just measured.

i think the accuracy is in question but it works long as you can keep it level at 1 angle or you get error message.the one at works any orientation perfectly this thing gets close enough to not be garbage

Zero/ calibrate according to instructions. Leave the level unmoved on the exact same surface and power of and on and it is off by 1.7°

I bought this little guy because it had a couple of advantages over its competitors. One, the little ribs on the flat sides could reduce the possibility of a piece of grit or sand affecting the reading. Two, I liked the white on black display screen. Right out of the box the front was peeling up around the lower edges and the unit had a lightweight plasticky feel to it. It rocked a little bit on a flat surface which didn't inspire confidence. Also, the magnet, which is only on the bottom, was a little weaker than I would have liked. I installed the supplied battery, turned it on and it seemed to be working. The instructions were written by someone with a good command of English and were very easy to follow. I performed the calibration procedure. That went well. But after a few minutes of playing with it, the display became stuck at 0.0 and would not change. I tried taking out the battery and starting over but nothing I did would get the display off of 0.0. After a few more minutes the unit wouldn't turn on. I tried two fresh batteries to no avail. I tried again a couple days later and still nothing. Bought something else locally for the same price which feels more durable, has a noticeably stronger magnet, and is working fine. Returned the Wisconsin Tool for a full refund. This was my experience; your mileage may vary.

This digital level is great for finding the relative angle between your tool bed and the blade or bit. Instructions are very well written and easy to follow. It has lots of options but takes a little bit to get them down. Once you do, it is a handy little tool.
