As we know, Sony PS2 network adapter only work with the IDE hard drivers, but the IDE hard drivers has been discontinued for many years, its very hard to find a new IDE in the market, it has been completely replaced by the SATA hard drivers.
This unit allows you to upgrade the Official Sony Network Adaptor (which is an IDE connection) and replace it with a SATA upgrade board.
This will allow you to use your original Sony Network Adaptor support a more faster and large capacity SATA hard drive,perfect for running Free Mcboot (FMCB) and using a program such as HD-Loader or OPL in conjunction with your own SATA hard-drive.

Kindly remind: A Phillips and a Torx (size6) screwdriver required for installation.

Perhaps I got a bad one, but this thing doesn't work and caused a lot of frustration and lost time. The instructions are fairly simple, but it just doesn't work. I thought it might be the drives that were bad, but when trying to set up a network connection in one of the games, it states that the network adapter isn't connected.I put the original IDE connectors back in, and the network adapter is again recognized, so the issue is with this conversion kit. If the network portion didn't work, but the drive did, I might could live with this.

Purchased this to convert an original PS2 network adapter from ide to sata to connect a 3tb hard disk and it worked like a charm immediately.The provided instructions are clear with pictures on a small leaflet.I applied insulating tape on the metal parts on the network adapter to avoid any chance of shorts, the item included few extra screws and an extra spacer in case you lose some of the installation bits.I haven’t used it long enough to judge on its longevity but so far so good, it does what’s advertised to do.

I’d been looking for a good IDE to SATA adapter to use with my PS2, but didn’t have much luck finding one that would fit; the connectors were always facing the wrong way. This one fits perfectly, is easy to install, and works great. I’m using it with a 1TB Seagate 2.5” drive and have had zero problems running games in OPL. Write speed is about 8MB/S (64 Mb/S), which Is plenty.

L'adaptateur ne peut pas être installé. La description du produit dit qu'il est compatible avec tous les modèles. Ce n'est pas le cas. Mon connecteur IDE a un format différent de celui montré dans le mode d'emploi. Les vis de fixation du connecteur IDE ne sont pas au même endroit sur le mode d'emploi que sur mon exemplaire. Il n'y a aucun emplacement pour visser l'adaptateur SATA XBERSTAR.

I broke the inside of my network adapter trying to remove the old parts but the new part sat in nice. Also I had a hard time with the little plastic washer things I dropped one inside and had to disassemble the new part after putting it in to get the washer out. I slapped that dusty ancient network adapter thing back together with the new parts and it works perfect with a PNY SSD 120GB on the PlayStation 2.
