have been using routers for many years and i have never had this happen, and this was only on the second cut.

Seemed to work pretty well once I got the setup exactly right on my router table. But after cutting approximately 20 to 25 linear feet of finger joints in a mixture of black walnut, cherry, and ash over a period of several days the shaft snapped off right by the cutters ruining one of my project pieces. The metal right by the break looked stressed.I would not buy a 1/4" shaft on a tool like this because it clearly is unable to handle the work load even when the router motor is slowed to 14,000 rpm and the stock is fed slowly into the bit.

however, my router table is not rigid enough, and my square is not tight enough, I will try my other larger router

I have still not set up my router bench but it looks as though it will do exactly what I want to create tight finger joints
don't care!

First time I tried to use it, the shaft bent.

Dangerous, do not buy. I installed the bit into the router, turned the router on, and the bit immediately bent and hit the edges of the router chewing up the router. I never had a chance for the bit to touch a piece of wood. The bit bent the second I turned the router on. The bit must be severely out of balance for something like this to happen.

1/4 inch shank u would need to run your material slow. I had no problem. Would recommend 1/2 inch if your going to do a lot of wood working to prevent chattering. Great bit though. Have bought other bits before from this company.
