These are great so far. One is secured to my paddle and the shorter (rod) one is secured to my shotgun. I have them both clipped to a loop that is directly in front of my seat in my Jackson Kilroy. The carabiners, bungee cords and Velcro straps seem strong and reliable. My paddle has fallen out of the kayak and it was easily retrieved with the leash. I haven't dunked my shotgun yet, but I believe the leash will also save it with no problem. When hunting season is over I'll switch it to my fishing rod. I'm interested to see if the shorter length of the leash causes any issues with rod mobility.
