The back of the clock doesn’t have a covering. Would need to be against a wall or something. I just added a cover myself so I can keep it on a table in the center of the room.

This is a cute little piece of home decor, destined to sit in my steampunk-themed office. As the listing notes, the mechanism is silent, so it's not distracting, but the old-fashioned hour and minute hands give a charmingly analog note to a digital office. It's important to note that the back is completely exposed: there's no back plate and the mechanism is clearly visible. So it's really only suitable to be placed where it's against a wall.

I'm not someone who has clocks around, but I have guests who go crazy if they don't see a clock, so I've been picking up small clocks and setting them near guest seating. I got this one and it's very steam-punk-meets-telemarketer which I find completely delightful. it's about the height of my cell phone (though I didn't take a picture). it's lightweight which I like so it can safely go on a floating shelf. overall, you really need this clock.
