nice gauge that i plan on utilizing prior to hooking up a travel trailer water supply at camp grounds. only issue is a major design flaw. once hooked up and the pressure is determined, there is no easy way to discharge the pressure prior to removing. needless to say you get wet and depending on how tight you put it on, you might need pliers to remove. overall just ons tar removed for that because you should know what you are getting into, just would have been a nice addition.

I recently ordered this water pressure gauge to help my friends and family keep an eye on their water pressure. My interest sparked when I tested my own home and found that my water pressure was just over 80 PSI. It turns out that high water pressure can really wreak havoc on plumbing, causing everything from pipe leaks to serious water damage.Normal water pressure typically falls between 40 and 60 PSI, so I had a pressure regulator installed near the curb by the water meter to help manage mine. Right now, I’ve got my pressure set at 55 PSI, and it’s super easy to adjust using the adjustment screw. Having this gauge is great because it allows me to check the pressure regularly and make sure my regulator is doing its job. What I love most about this gauge is its sturdy construction—everything feels really well-made. One handy feature is the red pointer that shows the maximum pressure until I reset it. I can even leave the gauge in place for a full day to monitor any spikes in pressure instead of just relying on a quick reading.Overall, I’m really happy with this water pressure gauge! I used it at my sister-in-law's house recently and found that she also had high water pressure. I plan to bring it along whenever I visit friends and family to help them check their water pressure. If you’re considering a pressure gauge, I highly recommend this one for keeping tabs on your water pressure—it's a great way to be proactive!

I'll bet most homeowners don't have one of these water-pressure gauges in their toolkits and just assume that their city water district knows what's best by (hopefully) setting incoming household water-pressure to the preferred 40 - 60 lbs. With this simple inexpensive lite-weight water pressure gauge, you'll know in seconds if all is as it should be (in fact our water pressure came in at a very satisfactory mid-range 52 lbs under a fully-open outdoor spigot). The gauge itself is NOT constructed of the stoutest materials compared to my old reliable 50 yr old American-Made round tire pressure gauge, but this water pressure gauge will do in a pinch considering how often you'll use it (although probably a bit more when your neighbors find out you have one and will want to check their water pressure too). This gauge comes with a roll of plumbers tape, which is really not necessary as the 3/4" threaded collar already has a typical hose washer inside the threaded collar, and that sealed just fine without the hassle of using plumbers tape (During my hook-up, there was absolutely no water weeping at threads under pressure WITHOUT the tape.)A great addition for any wanna-be-plumber-DIYer homeowner as a water pressure gauge is probably the best diagnostic starting-point before tearing into your plumbing supply lines.

I am on the local city water system and when they last replaced my meter the new one has a backflow preventer in it. Much to my surprise the pressure in my house would build up due to a bad expansion tank. This caused my hot water heater to expand and contract due to pressure changes when it would run. When i asked my plumber what happened he explained that the anti back flow valve does not allow the water inside the house to flow backwards into the system. Most houses should be running around 75psi or less. Since my expansion tank had failed it was not absorbing the expanding hot water after taking a shower, doing dishes or running the washing machine. He told me to pick up one of these. If the expansion tank or pressure regulator goes bad I will be easy to tell. I have it attached to a spare valve on my cold water line. I attached it and opened the valve. I then opened a faucet to balance the pressure. Once closed I turned the little red needle so it touched the black one. What this does is if the pressure goes up it will move the red needle. So far I have not seen an increase of more than 5spi over the last 2 weeks. The gauge ready accurately based on what the plumber told me he set the regulator too. The fitting is the same size as you garden hose so it can be attached there for a day to see what is going on. My hotwater baseboard heater has a pressure gauge that I don't trust so this gives me a way to check the pressure in the closed system without have to completely drain the system and replace the gauge. It's as easy to install and a garden hose. The large face makes reading the gauge a piece of cake.

This product is a water pressure test gauge, with the reading range from 0 to 200PSI and featureing a "red max pointer". It is "plug-and-play" and easy to use, just hook it to the garden hose and you will have the reading right away. I like the "red max pointer" that even you turn off the incoming water, you will still have what's the "last" maximum water pressure it read. The build quality is sturdy and above average, but for sure it's not a commercial grade nor for use in a daily basis. It is very good to check the household incoming water pressure, which normally or typical to be more or less around 60. Also, it's a handy tool for RV as well, where you may RV sites may have under or over water pressure, so you have it check first and then apply a water pressure regulator when the incoming pressure is way over or need to apply one.Excellent for occasional water pressure check and no more guessing. Price is competitive for its value provided.
