Most of our fasteners have a light zinc plating over steel giving a more rust resistant finsh. We also sell coated and stainless products for additional rust resistance. We stock many grades of fasteners ranging from low carbon steel on up to hardened, heat treated steel. Screws are okay. Bought them to look better for a vent, but the head of the screw for the most part looks worn even new.Otherwise, it's just a screw and works for that.

Standard vent screws in white. Used them to attach HVAC vent to ceiling directly in drywall (not ideal, but it was path of least resistance). Work as expected. Home Depot does not regularly stock these items in the Chicago area, so these are hard to find.
