I've tried auxiliary lenses before, and every time the quality of the original lenses was extremely compromised. Adding this to a good Zeiss lens was a great combination, with no issues with autofocus. Just a slight amount of vignetting in the corners when panning, but easily cropped. Nice sharp image with good contrast. I really like the added wide-angle perspective with only minimal distortion. I use an AX53. Great value!

This is not a toy or a flimsy plastic piece. It is a hefty, professional feeling lens in three pieces, allowing you to make shots in your Sony FDR AX 700, 100, 43, 33, et al. wider and/or do macro videography. It also includes step-up rings for the different Sony models to adjust to their lenses. You can leave these rings on the camcorder until you need to use this lens and then just scree it in, and presto! Great buy!
