Installation Step
- Gather Tools and Materials: Prepare the necessary tools (such as wrenches, screwdrivers, torque wrench) along with the new filter, oil pan gasket, and transmission fluid.
- Safely Raise the Vehicle: Safely lift the vehicle to ensure adequate space for work, and use jack stands for support.
- Remove the Oil Pan: Carefully remove the screws from the oil pan, take off the oil pan while avoiding damage to the gasket and other components.
- Replace the Filter and Gasket: Remove the old filter and install the new one; clean the oil pan mating surface and place the new oil pan gasket.
- Reinstall the Oil Pan: Reattach the oil pan, evenly tighten the screws to the specified torque, then add new transmission fluid and check for leaks.

If you have the Nissan 3.5 v6 then this is the filter you need.Yes the pick up tube is too long, so is every other after market one.All you need to do is use a cut off tool and cut about an inch off. Use your old filter as a reference.I used a cut off tool, cut at a slight angle like original filter. Then I used a table grinder to grind down the material evenly and match the height of the original filter, and then I took sandpaper to clean up the areas I cut to smooth it out. Took 5 minutes time.Depending on the model of your car, if you don’t cut the tube, it will prevent you from putting on your pan or if it does fit, it will be too long and leave no room to suck up the transmission fluid and you won’t be able to drive your car.I seen too many people leave bad reviews saying they don’t fit…. But they do, you just have to customize it.Left a pic of what I cut off for reference.
