I used product to insulate under the seats of two 50’s model ski doos that had straight pipes installed under the seats ., worked extremely well.

This is a fantastic and well made product. We actually bought this for our travel wood burner that goes in our tipi tent, and we wanted something to wrap around it where the tent touches the pipe (which is about 11.5' up). It cut very nicely with a razor blade (very sturdy, non-ragged edges), and it wrapped just as nice. We wrapped it afterwards in foil-tape as we wanted to give it some weather protection. So far it was worked like a dream! If I ever need more or to replace it, I would certainly buy this again.

This was a little bigger than I needed, I have a U.S. Stove Company Model 2000. It actually worked out way better than planned, because I cut it to where I could actually get two pieces out of this one. So basically I went out looking for one piece of insulation, and ended up getting two at a great price. It is 1" thick, but can be smashed down a bit to make it fit...I've had a fire every day now for a few weeks with it in there, no problems at all.

I used a strip of it around a pellet stove pipe...it really shouldn't have needed it, but who would argue with spending a few extra bucks to make SURE there's never an issue with heat/fire?The product looks a bit like rock wool and is surprisingly heavy. We were careful not to compress it, it doesn't spring back too well. We cut the strip using a metal yardstick and a sharp box knife...worked fine. It does 'shed' particles so we worked carefully (unlike fiberglass we suffered no splinters/cuts). Cleanup wasn't a problem.

So, for those new to woodstoves, the ceramic blanket is very important. It provides insulation above the baffles inside the firebox. A tattered blanket or incorrectly placed blanket prevents the firebox from heating up to the optimal burning temp and can cause the exhaust fumes to not sweep over the front glass (and clean the glass to make free of smudge / smoke. This blanket works great! My quadrafire woodstove came with 3/4 " insulation and since I've increased it to the 1", it has burned hotter and better.

I received this quickly and the material was better than the original. It easily was cut to size and holds together well. Others seemed to pull apart to too easy when inserting them into the stove. This holds together and provided more than enough insulation. Well worth what I spent and should last for years
