This cap is a piece of crap. I secured it, and when I started my car the cap blew off, apparently, and oil gushed out of the car. If my engine is damaged, it is due to this. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALEr

This claims it fits a 2000 Golf GTI 12 valve VR6 engine.... it does not, it is too small for it. As to the quality of it it is a good quality oil cap but does not fit what it says it fit for the GTI.

I was checking the oil in my wife’s VW beetle. Of course the cap fell and landed on the plastic cover on underneath he engine. Spent two days trying to retrieve it but no luck! Found the part on Amazon and it said it was a guaranteed fit. Bought it and it came in a day and a half! It was a perfect fit and the dealer wanted $30 for his part. It cost me S10 what a great deal fast service and couldn’t be happier with Amazon! Great sale!

I fixed the upper timing chain cover and used the OEM cap for several days without issues until this new cap came and I tried using it. It immediately triggered the check engine light. Drove a few miles and checked underhood. The area around the cap had oil splashes leading me to suspect not sealing and why the engine light came on and detecting an air leak. Place OEM cap and reset code and so far so good, so what? Return cap after 1 use.
