I had a chance to try these out with my hiking boots and they did a nice job of keeping the grass and other debris off my jeans. I was using a string trimmer with brush cutter attachment to clear a path through a marsh area. This aren't for protection from blades or very rough use, but they did well for their purpose and the dirt and grass just brushed off these chaps easily. The Velcro is wide and strong and allows them to open flat to install them easily, and the pinch cap allow a tight fit around the lower leg.

These are inexpensive gaiters that are rugged enough for yard work without being too bulky. The price is appropriate ($11.99) for the quality. Plus, these will adjust to fit a variety of sizing needs. As I mentioned in the title, exactly as advertised.
