The interior half inch NPT has facets which I take to mean that I will need to use a connector that employs a gasket on it. The dust cover being a slip fit was also a concern but it seems to hold well and is a convenience. Cannot blow through it in either direction so the valve is tight. Quality is good.

OK, the description lists the brand as waswale. However, when it showed up, it was carded for retail sale and has the SeaFlo brand name on the package. It is marked as model SFWI1-03.Also confusing in the description of the item. It says one-way valve gravity water inlet. Whuuut? It can't be both at the same time. In fact, this is not a gravity feed, but it is a city water (pressurized) inlet, with a check valve installed. It is not the kind you just insert the hose into and fill until it overflows. This is the kind that you screw the hose to the side of the RV and leave it attached with the water on. But the description is confusing.I normally don't like inlets with plastic fittings, and would prefer to pay for a brass one. However, this is what was available at a GREAT price, so I took a chance. The good news is the plastic 1/2" MPT side (the interior connection to the RV) is thick walled and seems sturdy enough. It even has a hex molded in for getting a wrench on to tighten the hose. The outer mounting flange is a smaller type, at only about 2.75" and has three mounting holes. Flange plastic is pretty thick, but take care not overtighten your mounting screws (which are NOT included, BTW - you have to reuse the old ones or supply your own). The female threaded ring that tightens to the water supply hose is plastic, with plastic threads, so care should be used with it as well, but again, it seems very thick and sturdy. It comes with the sealing washer already installed and it has a stainless steel screen to catch debris. My biggest knock is the sealing cap that plugs the hole when there is no water hose attached is just plastic and pops into the threads. It is not very tight and seems like it can work it's way out pretty easily. We'll have to see if the wind ever is able to blow it out. But at least it is retained and will still be there. In the long run, it is a cheaper aftermarket alternative. But, if you are OK with not having the OEM part, this is a good value option.
