I recently bought an all aluminum Trimax adjustable hitch. It comes with a 2 sided ball with 2" and 2 5/8" balls. However I also wanted a 1 7/8" ball. Convert-a-ball was the right idea but the ball mount part on the Tri-max is very thick. The long shank fit just perfect. Now I have a 6 position height adjustable hitch and 3 ball sizes all in one hitch.

Love the Convert-A-Ball products. Have three different drop ball mounts, and a Convert-A-Ball stainless shank for each one of them. Change the ball and you are set! The Ball Mounts and Balls are stainless too, so no rusting ever.

Have used these for yrs, loaned my old one and the idiot had it stolen off his truck. I have 5 trailers with two different ball sizes between them. This system is by far the best. They do retain their finish, and will last forever if you do the following two things......(1) Do Not LOAN your ball mount to anyone, NOT even your Mother-IN-Law !!!, (2) Use a good ball mount/receiver lock, OR put the damm thing inside your truck as I do.A roll pin in the cotter key hole is much harder to remove than the cotter pin. Helps to keep the crook honest.

First of all, I was very happy to be able to purchase "just" the post and not have to purchase the accompanying balls. I have used Converta-Ball hitches for at least 15 years and have never had a failure yet. They say that copying is the best praise and I know that there are at least two companies that have marketed similar hitches. I have them on all of my cars except my wife's Buick Century: One hitch is used as I need it on my 3 F-250 Ford pickups plus there is one on the motorhome, the 14 ft "cube" truck and now the Subaru station wagon. A great product!
