The construction feels great - decent amount of weight to it makes me feel like it was built with some decent steel and my forstner bits fit well but not too snugly (I have had problems with other extensions where I had a hard time removing the bit after some prolonged use). Unfortunately I'm fairly sure it's not totally straight - I used it at first on my lathe and noticed an undue amount of chatter so I switched out the bit and tried it in a hand drill but noticed the same bit of blur/wobble from the tip of the bit at certain speeds. It's good for the price, but I wouldn't use it for anything other than rough-hollowing on a lathe, definitely not for precision work.

This is a nice, straight extension for drilling deep holes in your lathe project. Easy to set up, it holds a variety of bit sizes securely and in-line with the center. Adjustments are simple, and the hex end which attaches to the chuck locks in well once tightened.
