The pointy end cuts through the turf easily and you have no problem marking your throws with these numbers. They are metal and have a bit of heft to them. They will probably do some damage to your mower if you leave them on the lawn unnoticed.

I am so tired of going to track meets and tracking down markers. This is going to help so much.

These really help with my backyard training. My yard isn't that smooth so when I toss the discus I can't always tell where it actually landed unless I keep my eyes on the spot and walk right to it. Now I can mark each throw with these markers which are sturdy but light metal and go in the ground easily. I can track how I progress (or regress) by marking each throw in order when using one discus. When I use all three discs, I put the markers out beforehand to show measured distance like a painted line would at a track. I don't push them too far in the ground so if I hit them with a disc they just fall over instead of getting bent.
