Easy to fill, and use. Takes about 5 minutes after filling to soak up fluid, then 5 or 6 strikes on the side to scrape off the coating and light the stick.

Nice! I was stuck alone in the woods and abandoned island for 30 days and this thing was a lifesaver! Definitely get enough to give as gifts!

Upon receipt I was pretty surprised at how tiny these really are. I was more surprised at how flimsy and poorly built. By the time I tested them out and learned that they are not useful for creating a regular spark, let alone lighting the "match" from the meager sparks I managed, even someone as slow as me had caught on and so not caught by surprise. These are not remotely reliable at best and are much more likely to leave stains from the leaked fuel wherever you put them than they are to actually light as intended. Definitely not worth even the meager $10 I spent. My bad for rolling the dice looking for a bargain. Previous purchase a few years back got me ten similar items much larger, well built and actually effective for a similar price so I think I still came out ahead except for the bummer of supporting a seller of this type of thing

It's impossible to tell how large the chamber is for lighter fluid until it's overflowing. I haven't been able to get a spark yet that's enough to ignite the fluid on the match. Having the chamber open while striking the match means a spark could hit the reservoir. If the match happens to light, you've suddenly got two fires to put out and no available hands that can respond quickly.

I understand you get what you pay for. With that said I would not recommend this item for your go bag. The cover came off immediately. It’s very hard to get it to stay lite. Even after throughly soaking the wick it just didn’t want to stay lit. I actually broke the tip of the striker trying to get it to spark. Maybe I got a bad batch. Best wishes. Marsha

I got these for my camping/survival bag expecting something decent but in reality I could fit over half in one hand.

NO instructions. Filled 4 to see if worked. 3 lit fine. The fourth finally lit only to burn out in few seconds. Hasnt relit. Had to watch vid on another brand to figure out how to fill with fluid. Basically novelity. Not something you would want to rely on in emergency. Get a back up!!!!!!
