Made easy work detailing old metal stuff I had lying around that I needed to get into the nooks and crannies of. Unlike others I’ve used, I didn’t have wires flying off and ending up as splinters either.

These wire brushes are a great find. I use these "10 Pcs Wire Brush for Drill, Coarse Carbon Steel Crimping Wire Wheel Brush, 1/4 Inch Hex Shank, Wire Cup Brush Drill Bit for Cleaning Rust, Stripping and Abrasive" for everything in the title of this product and more. These wire brushes fit into any 1/4" drill and have a hexagonal shank making for a truer hold and preventing the brush from slipping. These wire brushes are a perfect, all around handy tool when it comes to cleaning, scrapping, stripping and refreshing tools with all kinds of uses around the house. The brushes themselves are sturdy, well made of carbon steel, and hold together without losing bristles or having them become too worn out to be affective. The variety of sizes is also a good reason to get these wire brushes. I recommend these wire brushes because I have used many different types and these seem like they will hold up nicely. Time will tell.

These work okay but they can slip on the drill which makes the drill get hot. They also don't last nearly as long as the brand name we usually buy.

This is a nice assortment of ten wire brushes in three different styles, all with 1/4" hex shafts to be chucked into an electric tool. They seem pretty sturdy, but it's always important to wear gloves and eye protection which using such rapidly-spinning tools. They're great for cleaning rust or paint off metals, but you need to protect yourself from flying flakes of rust, paint, or whatever--or even the possibility of a wire breaking off--so be sure to wear that protection. The quality looks pretty good, so they should be reasonably durable. I did notice an occasional brush wire sticking out, but if that troubles you, you can just clip it off. The stiffness of the brush wires should make very short work of most cleaning tasks, and the price is exceptionally good..

I haven't got any complaints that are related to these wire buffers themselves, only the retail package, read on and I'll explain. Regarding the buffer pads, they're all in new condition and I'm happy with the all metal quality. They're actually quite heavy-duty for being part of a budget multipack set. The wire hairs that do the buffing are tightly packed together and there's a lot of them making up each buff wheel. They're also very rigid, so they should be able to handle the rusty parts I have planned for them. Now for the complaint, which is in reference to the retail box that these arrive in. Well, it's thin, and the wheels are so tightly packed that some of the wires apparently poked through, but they were just below the surface and not actually visible. I grabbed the box to open it and one of the wires punctured my index finger, it was quick, but it went deep enough to give me a dripping bleeder. I squeezed a few more drops to flush out the wound and then washed it up clean, so I should be fine, but that's why you'll want to handle with care. At least until you've got them where you want them, or use work gloves even. I think these should have a plastic retail package, or a even a simple, 'wear gloves before handling' warning sticker, or something similar, just so what I experienced doesn't happen again.I ended up using 3 old, plastic peanut butter containers for storing these in. I have them grouped with each other by their types, and they easily stacked on one other inside, plus they can't poke through the plastic like they did the cardboard. That's my take, I hope it's helpful. Thank you.
