OK, so as others have reviewed, this is not the mandarin skimmer shown in the listing. The skimmer pictured on Amazon shows a traditional skimmer that is wide and narrow in depth. The seller should change the picture to what they are actually shipping. However I ordered this hoping i would get this exact skimmer, funny right? So it worked out for me as this is more of what I was looking for to begin with. It is very well built and the skimmer is actually welded to the handle base. I'm a happy camper!

This photo is what is actually shipped. It looks functional and will try it. But it doesn’t resemble the photo advertisement as it’s not as flat. So it can’t reach the sides on a 16 in wok. More of a strainer than a wok skimmer.

When cooking Chinese food, you often have to remove cooked items out of the wok so that you can cook your meat or vegetables separately. This has always been difficult with a small utensil. This strainer makes all the difference!When deep frying, it usually takes too long to remove the cooked food, to a point that some the food gets overcooked. This strainer changes all that. One scoop and all of the deep fried food gets grabbed at once. Makes it very easy and the oil drains off very quickly too.Excellent piece of equipment!!
