This tray is as versatile as I had hoped it would be. Using any combination of the bottom shell and top pockets for dips, small sides, condiments or appetizers will definitely look nice and give it a lot of extra looks despite the flat white color. It's a little hard to see in the picture because of the color of the item, but the sides of the pocket trays are pinched in a little bit for an irregular shape. It's much more noticeable in person. I don't think it looks bad, but be aware that they are not straight squares.I am very satisfied with the item itself. However, they were shipped to me (by Amazon) in a box with odd cardboard packing peanuts and one of them arrived unusably chipped and broken. That's a risk you take when getting ceramics in the mail, I know, but it was still disappointing. I'm not sure whether it broke when 10 Strawberry Street mailed them to Amazon or when Amazon mailed them to me. I hope this doesn't mean they'll be overly delicate during normal use, but I plan to be extra careful with them anyway.

I really should have read the other reviews before ordering this thing. I will say that regardless their size should be in the product description. Much smaller than I had imagined. I was thinking of putting taco fixings in them but they are far too small for that. Why would I put ketchup, mustard, or mayo in a tray?

I thought this item would be bigger. It's rather small. The square pieces are about the size of a reese's cup. The longer piece is almost the size of a package of 4 reese's cups. Like the ones you get from the gas station. I figured an item would help you picture it better. Other than being smaller that I thought. It's nice quality dishes. They match my dish set. The Canopy square set from Walmart. I will be using this for dipping sauce or maybe some smaller chopped toppings.
