I unintentionally bought this thinking it was the liner I needed. It turns out this is what you would use pre-liner instead of sand or something...and I’m glad I ended up with it! I had a lot of tree roots and Little Rocks and no matter what I did, or how much I sawed at the roots they continuously were sharp because the ground I was working with was grainy. So this worked beautifully to cushion my liner and I don’t have to worry as much about sharp tree roots creating tears in my liner.

This item arrived withing a few days of ordering, even though it still shows pending on my side. Anyway, this was a perfect underlay for my small garden pond (4.5 feet x 4.5 feet). I placed it right over the whole as one piece and laid the liner down on top of it. As far as I could see, no rocks or roots protruded through this underlay. I'll update in six months.
