Works great to add on to items that function better for you with a snap. I used it to add a “tie down” for the hood on my hoodies/jackets for when I’m on the motorcycle and don’t want it flapping around. Not the strongest snap in the world but gets the job done.

I purchased this for a hobby project, a macro flash diffuser to be specific. After that was done,I found a whole bunch of things that I could add some snaps to to make them better.I never knew I wanted snaps on my curtains, but it keeps the fan from blowing then open. Never knew how handy a snap vs button on shirt pocket could be, until now! So simple to add snaps to many things, and they don't look too childish or girly for a manly man.A few snaps included are extra brittle, and I found changing to the other included rod bit will avoid half smooshed over spiky bits of the snap.Over all for the price, great little kit.

Bought this kit simply so I could put a snap on the pants I wear to the gym so my phone doesn't fall out of my pocket. Installed that in moments after receiving the device- phone has not hit the floor since! . Have gone on to use snaps all over the place. I put them on several curtains in my house so they can snap together where they intersect. Also used them for organizing keys- I have dozens of rental property keys and they now snap into an organizer. Plan on using this to make snap on covers for the tools in my shop to keep dust and dirt out of them when not in use. Note: be careful to align snap components carefully when crimping the pliers. I have not had any problems but could see how things could go awry if someone was careless.

I got this to put on my comforter and duvet cover to make the blanket stay in place. I tested it on a random sock and was amazed at how sturdy the snaps were. It even tore the sock when I tried to pull it apart (granted it was a cheaply made sock!) Once you figure out how to center the snaps in the pliers you're good to go. My duvet cover is linen and I've had no problems snapping my cover off and on so that the duvet can be washed. I'm constantly walking around the house looking for things that need snaps, now!

When you start using it, you will need to squeeze a lot more then you think. If the snap doesn't engage, squeeze again. Also, check if the plastic inside the snap is squished to the side. If so, use a razer to trim away the extra and it will work. This comes with T5 snaps. It comes with the dies and fittings for T4 and T3. It also comes with small tools and replacement parts.

I am really impressed with this, especially fro the price. I read some complaints about it being difficult to line up the buttons to compress them, so far I've done a few with very little issue and I was going through some thicker material that made it difficult to see. Each time it lines up just fine, I am incredibly happy with this purchase. Already thinking of other ways to use it. Going to be putting buttons on gloves and inside jacket pockets for my kids so they quit losing them at school!.

The plastic used for the snaps is very cheap. It you don’t have both ends completely centered on the grips, you could flatten the raised part of the snap. This would mean it won’t snap with its connector, and it is very hard to remove the snap once it’s pressed together. The grips/clamp is very sturdy and great quality! Great price just for the tool on it’s own!

For anyone who wants to put simple snaps in something: this thing works well. For guys who can't sew and don't want to, this is a handy substitute for plenty of situations. Got a loose waistband? put a snap in it to take up some slack. Got a cloth thing in the house that has come apart, like part of a curtain or something? Put a snap in it. You just need something to keep things together and this is easier than sewing. Just because a snap can unsnap doesn't mean it has to. So use it for permanently joining things or use it for things you want to be able to disconnect. Doesn't have to be clothes, just any cloth thing or like tarp material or whatever. Get creative. It's fun.
