These things are really cool. They have two bags that are nets basically that go inside of them to catch the water bottles and when you're done you just dump it in the recycling bin. It holds a lot of trash water bottles. Once you put the rods in it it's nice and sturdy. It's not very expensive and it works like it's supposed to... What more can you ask for?

This container is used in our household as a recycle bin in the kitchen. There are two pieces: the fabric outer container and a removable inner mesh bag. (It came with two inner bags.) The outer container is held upright by four rods inserted into sleeves that run from the bottom to the top, much like a tent. The hinged cover has a hole in it that's about six inches (15 cm) in diameter with flexible vanes that would keep insects out while not requiring opening the lid to toss a can in. The lid lifts up to allow bag removal or to put a larger piece of junk in. It's light weight and reasonably attractive, as garbage bins go. One problem I see is that any liquids in cans or bottles can run out, resulting in a pool of goop that might drip from the mesh bag on its way from the outer container to the next stop in the recycle process. A waterproof bottom for the mesh bag would alleviate this design flaw.If you're careful about throwing only well-drained bottles and cans into the bag, you probably won't have any problem, but the results of carelessness would be cumulative and potentially messy. The inner bag has four small loops near the top that attach to button-like hooks attached to the top rim of the outer container. While not difficult to use, it's still a little awkward but not a deal breaker. If you're looking for a bin that's light and reasonably attractive, this could be a good choice.

I wanted something better than the reusable grocery bag i use for recycling aluminum cans. A fire station near me has an aluminum recycling center that actually recycles cans (unlike my trash service, that simply dumps the recycle bin in with the rest of the trash). This unit is larger than I expected. Thankfully, it fits in my laundry room!I thought that assembly would be a no-brainer. There are four 2-piece rods that easily snap together, useless straps with a tiny piece of velcro on all corners (attached only at the bottom), and a bamboo frame at the top. That should give the needed support, right? After spending 5-10 minutes just trying to get the rods to stay in place, and realizing that the inside of this thing (don't ask) was darker than a black hole, I did the unmanly act of reading the directions. Didn't help - not even the pictures. I was ready to give a one-star review when I had a thought. What if the four straps were actually sleeves for the poles? If so, the fabric was held together tighter than two teens at a high school prom!Cut to the chase. That is exactly what the straps were for. I had to get a butter knife to separate the fabric and open up the sleeve. Once this was done, the pole slid in easily, popped under the bamboo frame, and the little piece of velcro did its job of holding the sleeve. Once I had figured that out, assembly was a breeze. What I like:- holds a ridiculous amount of cans- lightweight- looks nice- could serve as a clothes hamperWhat I don't like:- The pole system could be better designed- The inner bag is very lightweight. it may not last very long.- Not suitable for anything of weight- There is no easy way to clean the bottom of the bin - this could attract bugs- The bag attachment clips are awkward to use - very slippery, and difficult for larger handsOverall, I like it - and since I plan to use mine for (rinsed) aluminum cans, I think it will serve well. But I don't think that this is superior to recycling bins. I have a small area of floor space, so the vertical solution this provided works for me.

EDIT: This will rip up your garbage bag. The sides are soft but the rim is hard. As your garbage bag fills up, it will push out the sides. But when you take it out, the bulging sides will scrape against the wooden rim and rip. Again, this is not actually a trash bin, it's a laundry hamper.---------This is not a trash bin. This is a laundry basket repurposed into a trash bin. If you search "laundry hamper" on this site, you will find a lot of baskets that look exactly like this. The inner bag is mesh, terrible for garbage, even for recycling. The 4 poles holding this up are held in place with thoughts and prayers. There are no loops or grooves for them to go into, you just sort of wedge them between the top and bottom frames and hope they stay there. The listing pictures imply that the poles are held in place with Velcro. This is not true. The Velcro only attaches to itself, not to the poles. It does nothing to actually secure the poles. You can see in the picture, I'm holding the two pieces of velcro, and neither one is touching the pole at all; the pole is just wedged under the frame, in no spot in particular. Can this hold trash? Sure, just like any other laundry hamper can hold trash. Should you get this? For your clothes, why not. For garbage, no.I got this for free through Amazon Vine.
