Very nice mixing bowls. I got these to replace similar bowls from Food52 that had broken for no reason. Will they hold up better? Don’t know, but they are a better value.

These bamboo fiber, mixing bowls seem pretty sturdy. They feel pretty thick and they come packed well with saran wrap in between them and Styrofoam on the bottom to keep them from getting damaged during shipping. There is a big one and then a medium sized one these will work perfect for baking and cooking stuff or even storage in the fridge. The color is exactly as advertised.

The first set I received arrived broken, It happens so I just got a replacement which arrived quickly.The second set is fine. It is made of two bowls. A large one and a smaller one.Here is what I like about them:- Made of bamboo (ecological)- Good sizes- LightweightHere is what I like much less:- Fragile- Not really microwave friendly (get very hot)- Did not wash well, where are all these dirt spots coming from on the outside of the bowls? I cleaned them up as usual but unlike others the result is not encouraging.- Not cheapIn conclusion:Maybe the black color is not helping but I do not want to spend more time than usual to wash these fragile bowls.2 stars

The bowls are a must for most kitchens. They are what is occasionally needed to mix or serve large amounts. The biggest one holds 6.5 quarts or 8 oranges, 6 apples and a large Asian pear apple. The smaller bowl holds 4.2 quarts or 6 oranges and 5 apples. They are nesting bowls and don't take up too much room in your cupboard. Because they are made of plasticized bamboo fiber they are light weight. They can go in the dishwasher. However, be aware, I learned the hard way, the don't do well in the microwave. They get very hot very fast.
