Applied 5vdc to 5 (out of 10) of these right out of the bag, none of which produced a tone. Tossed those and the rest in the trash. Amazon's star rating cannot be trusted.

I used them to add sounds to an arduino project and they were perfect. They sound great right off of the output pins

I purchased these passive/AC buzzers to add to a component kit I had purchased from another company. A lot of my hobby-tinkering has involved sound & audio projects and I really wanted more of these. However, I do most of my work on breadboards and these leads are too short to hold the buzzers in place. If I try to use one on any breadboard it always falls out with the smallest movement. The only way I've been able to use them is by using a jumper wire with a Dupont-style female plug at the end, and even then they're still too lose.I imagine they would be fine if soldered into a PCB or attached to a proper lead wire. The buzzers do work like they're supposed to when a proper AC signal is used, but they seem impossible to use with breadboards. The attached photo shows the Cylewet 10pc set I purchased. Off to the side I placed a Cylewet buzzer next to a buzzer of a different brand to show how short the leads are.

Exactly what the description States... This is a passive Piezo. You cannot just put 5 volts on this and expect to hear sound, you need a 5v frequency driver. Replaced the Piezo on my wire tracer tone generator and it works great.
