I like to keep an assortment of equipment knobs in my workshop for projects that I make or to replace old broken, worn-out knobs and I wanted to add some smaller knobs to this assortment. I came across the Xiedeai 10Pc, 32mm diameter – M5 set (Approx. 1 ¼ inch dia.). I’m hoping to use some of these for a future jig I want to make. Being that these knobs are somewhat small, I was concerned about how much I could tighten them down and if they would break in the process or, if the small brass threads would come loose in the plastic handle. I took a couple of the knobs and tried them out on an M5 bolt. I placed a flat washer over the bolt and tightened the head of the bolt into a bench vise and hand tightened the knobs repeatedly onto the bolt. I applied a little more pressure than I normally would when the knobs tightened up against the washer, but I wasn’t trying to tighten them to failure but to see if they would hold up over time with normal repeated use. I tightened each knob – 10 times each. They both worked just fine. No cracks in the plastic. The threads held up and didn’t strip or come loose in the plastic. I am pretty satisfied with this set. Nice quality.
