The female to female RJ45 ethernet lan cable coupler is used to turn the standard CAT5/5e patch cord into the waterproof type for the ethernet connecting in the harsh industrial or outdoor environments. A gasket seal provides optimum protection from moisture and other contaminants with an IP67 rating. Using the standards based RJ45 connection system insures compatibility with existing hardware.

I have been looking for a device that can protect a mid-wire connection from the weather. These look interesting. While there are several makers, these were the least expensive ones I found. I have yet to test them, but on inspection, they look as if they will do the job.

I had to move some outdoor IP cameras, necessitating extending their cables. Let's just say that nothing worked until I used these babies. Simple to install, plug and play, and most importantly, they WORK and keep water OUT of your outdoor network connections. Combined with butyl sealing tape, these splices could be immersed in water and still work. I do wish they could be a couple bucks less, but waterproofing is one of those things that it's better to not cheap out on.

I have used this connector to make repairs to outdoor CAT5 or CAT6 cables, and also to extend existing cables. Unlike waterproof connectors I have used before, the rubber glands are split (this allows you to put them on an existing cable with an RJ-45 plug), and the gland nuts on the ends have holes large enough to slip over a standard connector.This item is well constructed and robust, and inexpensive to boot. Highly recommended.

I've used a set of these on a few short outdoor runs of ethernet and they did the job well in terms of providing a weather-tight seal around any junctions. However, strangely enough, the fit was a bit too tight for outdoor-rated cable and I ended up having to cut off the corners of the cable's rubber boot in order to fit it in. That was a bit annoying given that of course you're going to use outdoor-rated cable with these. Once I did that, though, they were very secure and I've got confidence they'll last for quite a while.

I need this kind of RJ45 coupler for my job, due to the fact that some ethernet cable faults I've found had happened outdoor. With this great item I can fix lot of problems 'til I can replace the whole cable if needed.Great quality. Highly recomended
