These go in tight and won't fall out. That is why I prefer them over purchasing another port cover. These are just right for keeping the port red-covered.

I got these dust covers to try out in my home lab. After installing them, I'm sorry to say that I regret this purchase. Although these dust covers fit VERY snugly into standard RJ45 ports, they look and feel cheap - and are really hard to remove. I had to use the tip of a screwdriver to pull them back out. These dust covers aren't terrible, but I feel like you could find nicer ones for sale here on Amazon.

These are extremely simple, hard molded plastic pieces. The product images and info are pretty accurate as of this writing. The plugs are well designed to protect your jacks by taking care not to flatten the ethernet pins when inserted.My only complaint is the price. I feel they really should be half or a third of this price or give you more in each package. I'm not unhappy with them, I just don't think I'll be buying the 100 more I would need to plug all of my devices' unused RJ45 ports (between my patch panel, switch, router, wall ports, and computers etc). If you are operating in a particularly dirty environment you might find it worth it, but for the average user it might feel a little too pricey for an impulse improvement.So I'm happy with them functionally, but may shop around on the price or wait for a coupon if I decide I really want to protect all of my ports.
