I could not scan 110 format negatives in my Nikon Coolscan IV film scanner with either the 35mm negative carrier or the slide carrier. I found this 110 format negative carrier on Amazon and decided to invest a little more than 20 bucks to give it a try...At first I didn't even realize that it consisted of two pieces until I looked at the on-line instructions. Then I slid my finger sideways on the carrier and found the film hold-down or "flattener". The 110 Format negatives in my collection are often curled and faded. The Coolscan can take care of the fading and the flattener helps remove some of the curl. What I'm amazed at is how well the product is made and how tight the tolerances are between the holder and the film flattener. This thing really works well.Does it allow for automatic negative advancement like the 35mm carrier? No. In fact, the only image that you can scan is the 3rd image from the back. This isn't an issue though, because you can easily slide the negative out until the first image is sitting in the third position. Have four images in your negative strip? Just flip it around in the holder and scan it in position number 3. Use your scanning software to manipulate the image to the proper view.I believe that this product provides excellent value for money and works as advertised.
