Works great. Used it for a mailbox that's on wood frame. The plow kept taking it out all winter, so I hinged it. Previous hinges failed, so I needed something more heavy duty. Only complaint - the screws could be a little more "hard" - stripped the heads while screwing in. Highly recommend drilling a pilot hole versus he-manning it like I tried to do.

Well made and effective. Installation is easy though the directions seem to have an error in which was to position the spring. It was easy to figure out. I installed 4, one on each gate of our patio. Two of my gates have heavy steel posts so I added aluminum angle iron to which the springs gould be anchored. The others have wire gates and one has a round cedar post so a different adaptation was devised.

Does it close the gate? Yes. That’s the only positive thing I have. Cheap screws. Gate slams when it’s loosened all the way. C- wouldn’t recommend

I love this contraption. My family and especially the dog's are constantly in and out of the house, doors constantly left open. Now, the old wood doors close automatically behind the busy bodies and that means everything. No more figuring out why the house is cold again, only to find the doors wide open. No power, no Internet, no air pressure thingy at the top of the door, no anything needed, just the spring and the screws. Now, voila, an automatically closing door. Four screws and you're done 👍. These were on the doors of the brownstone of my parents home. I was so happy to find them. Efficient and old school charm. PS. The spring is very strong. I should be happy about this purchase for years and years.

I ordered these for my gate and installed without reading directions or any kind. It was so easy. I’m kicking myself that I didn’t order these sooner.
