It has a high resistance to corrosion, and an excellent weight-to-strength ratio. The T6511 temper also means it has been heat treated for additional strength (Yield Strength: 35,000 psi). This 6061 aluminum meets ASTM B221 specifications.

This aluminum angle is exactly as described. Cut it in half to get two ~4" pieces. Using them to mount LED tail lights on top of vertical 2x4 posts on my boat trailer. Keeps the lights out of the water. Being aluminum, it will not rust in the marine environment.

1-1/2 angle was way overpriced 96innc length of the same material was $45 at home depot
