I am sound damping a very small room/large closet where I keep and operate a commercial 16 needle embroidery machine. The machine is very loud when operating and being in a very small space, the sound is almost deafening at times even when just outside the room.I am not experienced with acoustic tiles, or acoustic anything to be honest, so I did my best on this first placement. I used 3 different acoustic tile types, including this one. Of the three, this one was by far the easiest to situate. The tile backing is a board, flat and stable. There was no need to let the tile breath or rinse it in water before installing. The back of each tile had adhesive covering the entire back of the time. I did not detect any odor. I placed the tiles on the back of the door and felt that the adhesive was very strong, perhaps too much for my application. I pulled down about 1/5 of the adhesive backing, cut that portion off and then placed the tile. It has held just fine with no problems. If I want to remove it, just that much less adhesive to deal with.It's hard to tell which of the tiles had the most sound dampening effect. I will say that these tiles held up its part in the sound dampening experience. I noticed that while the sound was dampened, the most significant difference was that the higher tones of the machine operation was much dampened, improving the overall sound experience of operating the machine.I may fine tune the entire sound dampening arrangement in the future, but for a first go-round, I am pleased.

Right out of the bag, these were real easy to remove the backing and place where we needed. Few days later and they’re still sticking securely. Pretty durable but still easy to trim as needed. My intention was to block the noise inside an office from leaking out. These panels will not block noise completely but definitely help with removing most if not all of the echo. For what I needed, these work great and were a great value for the 12 panels.

Exactly what I expected. The whole back side of each panel is a sticker. I left the backing on and used 2 sided tape for easy removal. They fit flush and even and look great. Installed them behind my drum kit along with other acoustic panels in our studio and made a huge difference.
