Although I am a very organized person, I definitely have a strange way of organizing things. I keep my important documents in one of those giant plastic storage tubs and then I use spice rack holders to separate my files. Some items are in binders, and then other items like bills and contracts are separated into file folders. Typically I will use leftover folders that my kids don’t need for school anymore or your ordinary plain manila file folders. However, I saw these pressboard classification folders and I figured that I’d give them a try. I’ve never used these kinds of folders before, and if we’re being honest I’m not even sure how they work completely. The folders have these tabs inside them and judging from the pictures on their page it looks like you could almost use it like a clipboard which is really cool, but I haven’t tried that yet. Although I can’t compare them to other folders like them on the market with those tabs as these are the first ones like it that I’m testing out, I can compare them to regular Manila file folders. I can tell you that these folders are definitely superior to your traditional file folders. What makes these really stand out from your regular file folders is that these have a folder inside of the folder if that makes sense. There is the regular file folder part that you can put papers in when you open it or once you open it there’s another pocket style folder that can fit a standard size piece of paper in it. What’s really cool about this is that the inside folder also works as a divider. I’m trying to describe this to the best of my ability, but it would probably help to look at the page as the advertisement shows pictures of what I am describing. Overall, the folder inside a folder is probably my favorite aspect of these and I’m glad I ordered them. I would recommend them to anyone that needs file folders, they’re a great way to stay organized.

An efficient way to hold documents that are relevant to one another, yet separate in their own designated are, with a strong prong fastener to hold documents in place. Highly recommend.

I have better quality pressboard file folders with hard-attached prongs that I have been using for years and they have held up. I needed some newer ones for a temporary file system and settled on these for the price point. The outer folder is more like manilla folder thickness, not thick pressboard that doesn't easily bend. The paper prongs to hold paper in place is the kind that you can buy separately and peel and stick to the folder. That being said, with overuse, I expect the prongs to eventually fall off. Despite these lesser quality observations, I think the folder will work for what I need until I can cold store them or destroy the records. Said another way, they will work for a short term project but I recommend sticking to the thicker more expensive style for longer use.
