The snap is stronger than the cap. Once you snap it into place, you are more likely to pull the cap or base off and break the snap than un-snap it.I'm going to use the caps as large aesthetic rivet caps and chuck the rest in the garbage where it belongs.

Know that this product is utterly useless, the 2 snaps don't snap shut. I tried with my good quality tool that gives great results, but once installed, nothing doing, the 2 pieces don't join

I spent hours making a costume just to add these at the end for a removable portion, and almost every single one failed and broke. They are flimsy enough that I was able to bend some with just my fingers at the edges. I ended up having to remove over 20 full sets! I would have returned them, but it was past the return date by the time I got to use them. BUTER BEWARE!

The only negatives to this kit were that the studs are a bit short to be used on double layered canvas. Other than that the product worked as advertised.
