I was getting tired of trying to find a 12 point socket that would grip the end of the taps I needed to use.I’ve definitely tapped a hole or two crooked because I didn’t run the tap straight.I’ve used these exactly twice now and both times (Snap-on M10 and Hanson 1/4-20) the taps were securely held with no excess movement. I’m still a bit shy of using power to tap holes as I’d rather not shatter a tap needlessly and cause a whole ‘nother world of problems. Not to mention I typically only thread 1-2 holes at a time. The magnet is plenty strong to hold the tap no matter the angle and my extensions all hold these sockets without complaint.Definitely worth the price of admission for

This magnetic, tap holder, socket set is so handy to have. They come in a sturdy case, so they are always accessible, and where they are supposed to be. The case also closes securely, so no worries about losing anything. The markings are well defined and easy to see, so you always grab the right fit. They are super easy to use, fit securely, and because they are magnetic, stay without slipping. The tap holder socket comes in 1/4" and 3/8" and work with my tools by using the included hex adapter. The tap handle is super convenient, because it can fit where others can't, making it simple to access spaces you otherwise couldn't.They have a really nice corrosion resistant coating, and with normal use, should last for years to come.Overall, this is an excellent set!

This is a good value for a very good quality 12 piece set of magnetic tap sockets. The quality is good and they are sturdy and well made of chromium-vanadium steel with a dark ebony coated finish. They are rated as wear and corrosion resistant. The style is a square drive style. Two adapters are included to use with your device in a ¼” size and 3/8” size. They come in a very nice, good quality, compact hard plastic case that opens and closes easily and securely. It’s a smaller, compact case that doesn’t waste space and isn’t overly large. It doesn’t have a handle so it fits in smaller spaces more easily. The inside of the case has an area for each item and it’s easy to see the sizes of each of the items. The outside of the case has the brand logo but you may need to add a label of your own to more easily see what’s in the case. The inside top cover of the case does have a very nice label chart with the sizes included. There is a clear plastic protector insert that you may want to keep in the case as it protects the inner case label chart. You may want to look closely at the listing pictures and details to see the exact sizes in the set. They are in metric and standard SAE measurements. The size is printed clearly on each one and is easy to see and read. The size range ins SAE (standard) is 1 – ½” and M (metric) M1.5 to M14.Note that no powered device is included, you’ll need to have your own that’s compatible with this set. The ¼” and 3/8” adapters should work with most common devices.

Tried this product on a scrap piece of material with mixed results limited by my ability to hold the tap accurately perpendicular to the hole to be tapped. I then made a "tapping block" with various sized holes for most taps to be used out of tool steel and had it hardened. This block positions the tap perfectly perpendicular to the surface to be tapped highly reducing tap breakage due to improper alignment to hole to be tapped. Then this kit worked great and will be in my machinist tool chest for lots of future products. A tapping block like mine should be included with this kit (hint hint).

I’ll admit this set is nicely designed and manufactured. I’ll start off my saying I have two tap and die sets. One that cost a few hundred and the other from harbor freight. I would not use this a wrench when tapping out something for example a car/truck motor. Expensive/quality tap sets easily cut metal and I personally wouldn’t tap something in my truck without applying even pressure. But I do build go kart's, and RC trucks that constantly strip out screws and occasionally bolts. Perfectly suitable for a cheaper tap and die set and where I absolutely enjoyed using this product. It as nice having a faster more reliable way to fasten the tap. I now use this on a drill when needing to tap into nylon or hardened plastic. It now takes a few seconds to tap a few new holes which took minutes before. I have a friend who borrowed this to help retap a header bolt hole and said he would use this all the time. He has arthritis in his hands and enjoyed being able to tap steel without much effort.I would highly recommend this product.

I've always hated normal tap wrenches. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but they always loosen up, and I constantly have to deal with them slipping, or popping off. I've always wondered why ratcheting tap wrenches weren't more common, so I thought these sockets would be a nice way to make using taps more convenient. Now, using these with a bit driver (using the 1/4" hex bits) is basically a non-starter. Unless you're just chasing a thread, you just can't get the torque you need without more leverage than you can get with a screwdriver. I suppose you could use a drill, but I don't trust power tools to not just snap the taps. With a more traditional ratchet, though-- these are a really great thing to have. STARTING a thread is tough, since it's awkward to apply pressure evenly with a handle on only one side. Once you START the tap, you can switch to a ratchet and oh my! There's no slipping, no hassle, and you can apply as much or as little torque as you please.Really appreciate these things!
