Got the product fine . But didn’t use it within return window. Went to use it . New batteries. A garbled screen lit up for a second and then nothing . Needed this product . Would not buy again.

Thought I lost the original that came with my heater. Bought this, found the other one, 😆Original is great, this should be too.

As many have experienced, this remote would not pair with my diesel heater. It was purchased to replace an existing remote, but I could not get it to work. Returning it to Amazon for a refund.My diesel heater was purchased from Amazon a couple of years ago. It came with a controller with the blue plastic surround and an identical remote control (except mine was black). The remote that came with the heater worked great, but a recent 14F cold-snap apparently froze the alkaline batteries in my original remote and when they thawed, leaked all over the original remote and it will no longer power on.I was going on another winter camping trip and needed the remote, so purchased this one in spite of all the bad reviews in the hopes that it would work. Unfortunately I could not get this one to work.The remote came with no instructions on how to pair it with my diesel heater, but there are several online videos on how to do this. There seem to be two methods used with the blue framed controller. Not sure what determines which to use, but I simply tried both methods. If there are other methods, I am not aware of them.Method 1 - seemed like the right one for my diesel heaterensure their are good batteries in the remotepress a button on the remote to verify the display lights upit should display a message something like "connecting please wait"allow remote display to automatically turn offapply power to the diesel heater, but do not start itpress the and buttons on the remote simultaneouslyit should now display "for pairing" in yellow at the bottom of the remote displayrelease the two buttons on the remotethe "for pairing" message should remain on the screenpress and hold the button on the blue diesel heater controllerafter a couple of seconds, the display should change to show "HFA"at this point, the remote display will probably go dark and the blue controller will quit displaying "HFA"pressing a button on the remote should now briefly show a "connecting" message, then show information (like temperature?) on the remote along with "standby" in yellow at the bottom.I went through this process multiple times with different batteries, different distances from remote to heater, different button press lengths, but I could never get it to pair. The remote always remained showing the "connecting please wait" message. Because I got the "HFA" message, this seems like the correct procedure for my heater. I will continue to look for a replacement remote. There are several available on e bay, but I worry about having the same issue. I may just try a complete blue controller and display remote combo.

I managed to step on my factory remote for my diesel heater and took a chance buying this one that it would actually be compatible with my unit. I am very happy to report it paired easily and works perfect. Great product and I would recommend this for a back up/spare.

Ad says: "don't worry about buying the wrong product". You should be worried because if you have any other than the new and only one model thermostat..then it will not work. Luckily its cheap and returnable

the remote is not as descrebe there fore useless , sending me a remote control in Chinese language , hope they sell to Chinese clients not to Canadian clients
