I have not installed it yet. That said it feels like every other pump of this type that I’ve used in the last 40 years. I have a shurflo pump from 1977 that was in the spares locker on my boat and which is at least twice the size of those ones but of course it cost over $400 att. That pump is still running strong and even when run continuously for hours does not get above ambient temperatures. That is too much to hope for with these. This will replace a 4-chamber shurflo pump that I have despised for the 8 years it’s been installed. It produces massive output surges per pump cycle to the degree that it splashes out of containers under my sink faucet. I added 10 feet of 1/2” heater hose to the output of that pump to dampen the pressure surges and I won’t buy a shurflo or 4-chamber pump again. That pump is now starting to leak down when not run for a while - my water storage is top-draw 55 gal barrels and once they drop below about 75% empty that pump cannot hold vacuum and the pump starts cycling endlessly. The crux of these designs is the rubber membrane that the pump chambers are made from. I’ve tried to rebuild shurflow pumps with their replacement parts and failed so I’ve become superstitious about them. I expect that a cheap pump has cheap materials comprising the pump membrane and that these will not last over time, but we’ll see.I will absolutely come back and add to this review after installation. I have a feeling however that this pump is just as good as the ones costing 2-3 times as much.
