About this item

  • Compatibility: 1/8 Arrma Losi Axial Tamiya Redcat Himoto HPI HSP Buggy Truck and Off-Road RC cars.
  • The thickened 4mm shock absorber shaft can better protect the car from collisions during continuous jumps.
  • The two sets of springs are 12N and 10.5N respectively, and the two ends of the springs have been polished and fixed with rings for better fit, so that the force points are evenly distributed.
  • The threaded shock absorber with adjustable preload and built-in rubber ring provides smooth damping during multiple jumps.
  • Multi color anodizing adds color to RC cars and improves the durability of shock absorbers.

These shocks look great and appear to be machined well. Two of the shocks had little to no oil in them which is not a big deal for me since I drain and use my own shock oil in all my shocks but those who may not be so keen on doing this need to keep in mind that you may need to fill these when you receive them. I cannot comment on longevity or durability as I just filled them and have yet to install them but they have smooth actuation and feel sturdy.

These 130mm big bore shocks are pretty good! I got this set because I couldn’t find a pair of 120mm. The stock for this Granite is 118 in the rear, but I do have the wider Big Rock arms on, so I figured a little longer wouldn’t hurt. It’s a bit long, but I put 50w oil in them to dampen the spring rebound. It worked well. One not so great thing I noticed was that the spring tends to bend sideways a bit under high compression, which makes it run against the threaded shock body as it pushes back up, making this ugly sound. Maybe Toomod could release a set of coated springs as an option. The only quality issue I found on this set was one O ring that appeared to be crushed or ripped. Not a big deal, I just replaced it from a set of assorted O rings I have. As long as you completely disassemble these shocks and grease the O rings, reassemble and fill with the correct weight oil for your application, and properly bleed the air, these shocks work incredibly well. I love the amount of O rings and plastic spacers in this design. I makes them pretty much leak proof. Rather than a bladder in the shock cap, these are sealed with a double O ring design - one in the cap and one around the base of the threads on the shock body. This design is okay and so far has proven leakproof as well. I have sent this truck off huge jumps and have not had any issues with these shocks.I have owned several sets of shocks from this brand and they are all high quality. You can’t go wrong with these.

I run these almost entirely in all of my rigs and they are by far the best shocks for the money I have run. The build quality is fantastic, they do not leak and they just run great. I spent way more money on a set for one of my two Slash builds and these outperform them by a long shot.

The quality of the machining tolerances and shock shaft coating are superb. I'm in the long process of rebuilding an Arrma Kraton 6S. Need more parts to come in before I can give these a whirl. But they fit perfectly, the shock caps are secure. The adjustment of the springs make it where you can fine tune to your linking. The steel shock shaft is coated to prevent pitting or rusting. They are prefilled with oil. I will probably experiment with different shock oil weights once I have my new electronics in place. The anodized aluminum of the shock body, caps, and spring retainers is flawless. They put some work into these to get a very solid end product. I'll be sure to update this review if they present me any issue.

I decided to try these for emergency shock replacements on my Arma Kraton 6s. In preparation, I opened the shocks and found them filled with shock oil, which was great. The springs on these are about the beefiest I've seen! The machining overall is exceptional. For example, I had no issues adjusting the spring tension ring to increase the stiffness of the shock. This can be difficult if the threading is off by the slightest amount. The sizing is appropriate for 6S, 1/8 sized RCs. The package also includes some really cool stickers and all the screws you need for installation. Considering four 1/8 scale shocks can easily cost twice as much as these, they are definitely worth a shot, especially given the oil, the machining, and the robust springs.
