This wire is perfect for my purpose, and was used to run lighting wiring replacement in the 33 foot mast for my '78 Hunter 27. The original wiring looks to have taken a lightning hit, and had to be entirely replaced. This color coding enabled me to differentiate between circuits for the various electrics on the mast, and the quality of the wire is high. The gauge and stranded nature also allows it to be self-supporting in the column without pulling apart while handling the electrical load over the distance. I could have gotten away with something lighter, probably, but this is surely going to be enough, and I could not state that about the other options considered.This wire comes on a nifty plastic spool, and was just long enough for the task at hand, given that I had to leave some to make the transition from mast to interior of the sailboat. I will be buying again for the lighter wiring I need for the interior or for my next vessel.
