About this item

  • A thin, short, rectangular fiber cut from unidirectional carbon fiber commonly combined with resin to add strength and stiffness to parts.
  • Use with difficult vacuum bagging applications to fill deep voids or sharp edges.
  • Chopped Carbon exhibits high strength and modulus, excellent fatigue, low thermal expansion and electrical and thermal conductivity.
  • RECOMMENDED USE: Thermoset resins: Epoxy, Vinyl Ester, Unsaturated Polyester, and Phenolic
  • APPLICATIONS Automotive Aerospace Chemical Industry Construction Military Sporting Goods Forged Parts

Fiberglass Supply Depot Inc. Flake Type chopped carbon fibers provide ready impregnation of thermoset resins, with the capability to mold complex shapes. The resultant carbon fiber/ resin matrix composites offer high strength-to-weight and stiffness-to-weight ratios. Flake Type chopped fibers may also be used as a low-cost alternative in thermoplastic applications, whereby a small portion of the matrix-specific product can be replaced with chopped flake carbon fibers with negligible impact to composite properties.

Product looks great, is exactly what I wanted however it's advertised as 4 ounces of product and a 1 ounce jar of it arrives. Wouldn't have purchased had I known that.1 star review until the remaining 3 ounces arrive. . Will update when seller reaches out and makes it right.

Advertised as a 4 ounce jar. It is not. It is in fact a 1 ounce jar. Great product, just missing 3/4 of it .

My first time using this medium. I later found the dust from sanding is bad for you. Keep that in mind and be careful, wear painters mask and cover up. Made knife handles and they look fantastic. Polished up easy. Put in some copper flakes and WOW, one nice set of handles.
