This is a well-made charcoal basket. It is sturdy and solid construction. It is easy to clean with the spaces wide enough for ash to fall through but keep the larger coals contained. Overall a very nice basket.

Love this fire basket as it not only fits in Kamado grills, but also with any standard smoker. It's always best to use a basket to keep your coals clear of ashes. Easy to carry as it's light weight, and gives your fire time a little better burn.

This charcoal basket fits perfectly in my Kamado Joe Classic Series 1. Over three grilling sessions—ranging from 400 to 700 degrees Fahrenheit—it has held up without any signs of warping or deforming. The thick stainless steel grates feel durable, and the sturdy handles make it easy to shake off ash from leftover coals. Thanks to this basket, I no longer need to fuss with the ash cleaning tool, saving me time and effort.One drawback, however, is that in the Kamado Joe Classic, the Divide and Conquer cooking rack sits directly over the basket’s handles. This means I have to remove the cooking rack before shaking out the basket, which adds an extra step to the process. Despite this minor inconvenience, the value is unbeatable. At just $35, it’s a far more budget-friendly alternative to the Kamado Joe charcoal basket, which retails for $150.For the cost savings alone, I can live with the hassle of removing the Divide and Conquer rack when needed. Worst case scenario, I’ll stick with the Kamado Joe ash cleaning tool while still enjoying the improved airflow that the charcoal basket provides.

I got this basket to see how effective it is in helping pick out the remaining charcoal pieces before cleaning out the ash. The basket sits atop the bottom grate perfectly and appears to be very well constructed. I just finished smoking some pork, cleaned out my Egg and installed the basket. I will update my review once I've had the chance to see how effective and helpful the basket is to the cleaning task.

Solid all metal construction that has a nice mirror finish so it is easy to clean. This is the only way to use your egg. All it takes to clean up is shake the charcoal out and then you have the big lumps that come out when you pull it out.Then it is so much easier to clean out the rest of the ash.The other benefit is that it keeps more air around your charcoal.

Holds lump charcoal well, seems to be a great solution to make cleanup between cooks easier. The only issue I have is it could be an inch or so wider and maybe slightly taller. It does fit the Kamado Joe Classic and seemed fine during my first cook with it. Much less money than the Kamado brand.
